Fantasy Illustration 2

Lesson 2 Chapter 1 Module 1

Use the image as a prompt for writing. You can write anything you want. A story, a poem, you can simply describe what you see if you like. The object of this exercise is to write as many words as you can. It's not about the quality of your writing, your grammar or spelling skills. It's simply to get words down on paper or computer screen.

BUT, you only have a minute to write in.

Get paper and pen ready, make yourself comfortable, and click on the video to start the timer. Make sure your computer/phone/tablet sound is on as there is an alarm at the end to tell you the timer has finished, and encouragement from me along the way.

And then write!

When the timer has finished you should stop writing, even if you are in the middle of a sentence. Count up your words and make a note of the number.

Then do it again.

This time you need to try and beat your previous word count, so make sure you write fast!

Using this exercise can often shake up your creative side of the brain. You will get ideas, you will feel warmed up and a little more ready to write. Who knows, you may even have the beginning of a new story!

Post your writing in the comments.
